This, I'm very proud of. It is for my Design Process class. The goal was to create an icon or "dingbat". (<--- seriously, I have never heard that term before)
It had to be an animal exhibiting an expression. Both the expression and animal have to be instantly recognizable. This means stripping the image down (wooo! take it off!!!) to it's most basic details.
I made the extra effort to think of body language instead of just facial expression, and it paid off in unintended ways. Most other finished works I saw were confined within squared designs with many cornered negative spaces. The shape of my icon is held with the position of the animal.
I love how this turned out, and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
graphic design taught me some of the most important things concerning art composition, flow, design, and the whole thought process behind a piece... no matter how much i hated it sometimes.
logos were always a fav project. i've done a few commercially in my time ^^
Glad you like it. Yes, the lines could be smoother. Some of that is from the computer though. I have no idea where those white specks are coming from, 'cause I made those shapes solid black.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

The photonotes.org Dictionary of Film and Digital Photography is one place to stop and get it all answered. This is quite a valuable resource that explains in depth what a photography term means, and will help those understand who might not know what something is.

I see a armadillo on it's back, partially rolled up, laughing himself silly.
A very nice, simple image. I'd like it a little more if its lines were a little smoother. However it's a small nitpick.
Heh...rofl-armadillo...

by "in my time" i meant 'in my artistic career thus far'.
when i can no longer do art, i will most certainly cease to live... and i'd like to hope that won't be for quite a long time. *grin*
