I wanted to go to the rave but got separated from one of my friends who was going , so I ended up retreating to the hotel for the night. I did watch Predator 1 and 2 back to back . It was on TV.

You've got a re-inspired friend of mine to thank for this, and I'm happy to pass her initiative forward.

District 9 is a new classic for me. Now currently my favourite for the year so far. Neill Blomkamp's vision is breath taking. And for once it is the original vision of a director, and not an adaptation. The sad thing is, it only existed as it is because of Peter Jackson's name attached to it. It will be a long time until we see such creative freedom displayed in a movie. I was amazed to see so many things that I know the studio would have been squirming in their seats to change. But with Peter Jackson producing it, they really couldn't do a thing. You don't say "no" to Peter Jackson.

I'd say "If you're going to see any movie this year, see this one." BUT I'm reserving that statement for Avatar.

Best weekend in a long long time. Spent the entire weekend at Anime North with three of my greatest friends. (Shawn, Dan, Jenny) Got all dressed up in Yugioh (abridged) costumes. I was the all-american Bandit Keith, followed by Seto Kaiba (Dan), Ryou Bakura (Jenny), and Kyle Reese (Shawn [yes, not a YGO char.])

Aside from the first day, we really didn't do much with the regular AN programming. Two of my friends were content with goofing around in the parking lots, and running off to god-knows-where without telling me. Also, it's hard to get to any event on-time when you're stopped for taking photos every inch of the way. Boy, did we get a lot of attention. I hate to sound cocky, but I think it was mostly because of me. So many people recognized Bandit Keith, either shouting "in America" or requesting that I deliver the phrase myself.

Didn't find any souvenirs to buy and bring back. I couldn't find anything near and dear to me. I was hoping to find something from Cowboy Bebop. But nothing. Everything's from these NEW animes that are about ninjas or spirit hunters, or ninja spirit hunters. I must not like anime anymore. Accept for Avatar. I don't care what those racist purists say, Avatar is anime.

I got all of the photos I took on Facebook. Not much though. I'm waiting for Jenny to post her stuff, she's got a lot more.
